Description:	"Lo" is Hawaii's "fabric" artist, the creator of one of a kind originals, wearable art and décor, featuring clothing, home decor and custom fabrics. She is dedicated to creating quality, unique and exciting functional art to celebrate her love of Hawaii, the islands, and the tropics. Her work gives residents and visitors alike ongoing reminders of the magic and beauty of Hawaii. Not surprisingly, her work graces homes and people from around the world. She graduated in Fine Arts from the Art Institute of Boston and later from fashion design schools in Boston and New York. But, city life away from the sun was not for "Lo". Lauren is an island girl at heart, at has come a long way since she was painting sarongs on the beach, in 1983. A kama'aina and a well known artist in the Hawaii arts/crafts community, attending the major shows and exhibitions, she gathered quite a following after a local TV piece was done at her studio, about her one of a kind furniture. In her Waimanalo studio, surrounded by nature and working with the finest of materials, usually 100% cottons, stretched over gigantic frames, Lo mixes pigments to create her colors and paints each piece with special heat set dyes, especially made to retain fabrics softness with use and repeated washings. Each piece is an original hand-painted creation. Her bold interpretations of tropical flora, fauna and impressions are perfect for anyone wanting to add flair and excitement. Her bright colors and dramatic patterns are in harmony with that special creative energy unique to Hawaii.
