| Description: | In July of 2001, after five years of careful planning and detailed market analysis SLSS Partners, Ltd. officially opened Salt Lake Self Storage, the first purpose built self-storage facility of its kind located in the heart of Honolulu. This state-of-the-art facility built exclusively for self-storage is designed to provide Salt Lake and the surrounding area customers with the highest level of service, security and amenities. In order to create this landmark facility it took the combined efforts of Nordic Construction in partnership with developer MW Group, Ltd, lender Central Pacific Bank, architect John Okita, and construction management firm Ventures West, a year and a half since the ground breaking in January of 2000. The finished product is a magnificent 50 plus foot concrete tilt-up building, one of only a few structures of its kind in the world. Due to the high cost and limited availability of real estate on the island, particularly for self-storage, the four-story 180,000 square foot facility was designed specifically to address this issue. This unique multi level facility maximizes Honolulu's tight market conditions and provides a premium storage solution without passing the added expense to the customer. Another factor to be considered in the design and construction of this facility is Hawaii's own climate. The heat and humidity that makes up our lovely tropical weather is unfortunately very destructive over time to materials including most metals, finishes and adhesives. Salt Lake Self Storage's full concrete construction and the 100% air-condition climate not only protects and preserves your valuables from these damaging elements, but also creates a pleasant and comfortable environment for customers. |
