Description:	I was raised in the Italian neighborhood of Pittsfield, Mass in the 50's and 60's. We ate most of our meals at home. On special occasions we would eat at one of the Italian restaurants in the neighborhood. Piles of al dente pasta, good homemade breads, big ole' meatballs, sausage & peppers. Now, that was eating! Of course, you knew just about everyone in the place so there was always allot of chatter and laughter and energy going on. Nothing fancy, mind you, just good food and friends. When I came to Honolulu in 1979 there were only two Italian restaurants here. Both places were in Waikiki and both with white cloth tables and waiters' in tuxedos. They charged twenty dollars for a plate of pasta! Momma Mia! Nothing like the places back home. So, there was my opportunity. Open a little spaghetti joint just like back home where friends and family could gather for good Italian food at reasonable prices.
