Description:	DOGTOK is a Hawaii nonprofit organization established on March 4, 2004. President, Elizabeth Paek, Vice-President and Secretary, Liann Y. Ebesugawa, and Vice-President and Treasurer, Sheree N. Stewart, met while attending the University of Hawaii William S. Richardson School of Law. Together they worked as writers and board members of the UH Law Review. While Sheree (former Editor-in-Chief) and Liann (former Executive and Managing Editor) are published authors themselves, they also assisted in editing Elizabeth’s (former Casenotes Editor) animal law article, Fido Seeks Full Membership in the Family: Dismantling the Property Classification of Companion Animals, published in the Summer 2003 edition, Volume 25, No. 2. During law school, Elizabeth, Liann and Sheree frequently exchanged information about the health, diet, and behavior of their dogs. They soon began to realize that they each possessed invaluable information about their dogs and recognized how sharing that knowledge could contribute to improving the quality of life for their dogs. Today, Elizabeth, Liann, and Sheree are licensed attorneys in Hawaii. However, their friendship is based on more than just a shared interest in the law. Their motivation to create stems from their dedicated love and compassion for dogs, and a desire to promote the welfare of all dogs in Hawaii.
